3 sewing for boys items

One of the great things about upcycling is it allows you to really extend limited resources. i used old plain blue curtains i was given for fabric to line both the hat and belt ( from sewing for boys sew along here) so that the feature fabric of fishing, that I bought as a fat square, did three projects. I used the book sewing for boys for the patterns, although i did change the items slightly, including using a recycled buckle for the belt. If you look carefully you can see the pockets on the shirt are  two tone, due to colour change on that fabric.  I just made sure i used it symmetrically on the shirt.

The hat was meant to have raggedy edges, lending it to more refashioning possibilities!

  1. Nice!!! Sewing boys stuff seems limited, I have 2 sons, I haven't made much for them.. but the 2 to loves hats, I gotta make him one :)

  2. Great share on using various limited resources, and using even the "defects" of older fabrics to your advantage. Thanks! -Seeks, EOD
