Zippered Sweater

Hi all :)

So, as we are looking forward (read dreading) another snow storm tonight and tomorrow, I've put my hopes and dreams of summer on hold to refashion a basic v-neck pullover. I saw this diy on Pinterest, hopped over to check out the tutorial and immediately was drawn in by Fall For DIY. Seriously cool jewelry DIYs as well as all kinds of other projects...check.it.out!

Ok, so I started with this blue cotton sweater (thrifted) that is more fitted, and as such I decided to put a zipper up each side, instead of just one. Here's what I started with:

I have a few of this type of sweater, and having two identical navy zips on hand (thrifted) along with matching thread (grandma's stash), I went with the blue, but have plans for the others as well and will post those in the next few days :)

Anywho, I cut up the side seams, pinned and sewed the zips in place and voila! Here's a look at the before and after:

If you'd like to see a bit more of the process, hop on over here to check it out. If we get all the snow we're supposed to, I won't be leaving the house for at least a couple of days, so I may just have to bombard you with refashions. :)

Peace,
Andrea

That's very cute. I still struggle a lot with zips, despite having put quite a few in.

Forgive me for not reading the entire tutorial on your blog, but are you wearing a shirt under the zippered pullover? I like the added zippers to the shirt -- very nice.
