PANTS REFASHION: super easy shorts

PAIR OF CHARLIE'S CARGO PANTS
MY HUSBAND'S OLD PAIR OF CARGO PANTS

I'm in the process of working on more complicated refashions, but I decided to take 30 minutes to quickly refashion a pair of my husband's old cargo pants. The pants fit nicely for me, but my husband is a good foot taller than I am.

I MADE A CUT AN INCH OR TWO BELOW THE SIDE POCKETS.

Not surprisingly, I needed to alter the hem of the pants to fit my super short legs. Due to the lovely warm weather in my area, I decided to turn the cargo pants into shorts for me. I briefly debated about taking in the side seam but decided against it.

I simply cut off the legs an inch or two below the side pockets and hemmed them near my knees. When I have more time, I'll probably take a closer look at the side pockets to see if I can pick them off. I'm not a big fan of the big side pockets, but I'll leave them for now.

First off, I'm jealous that your weather is warm enough for shorts! Second, way to make your husband's pants work for you :) I recently tried a pair of my husband's pants on and they fit surprisingly well! I even have a couple pairs of his old dress pants to hack up...hehehe

Poop. Sorry about that, Em. I'll replace the pics now. Hopefully, that will do the trick.
