Fool's Gold

Happy April 1st aka April Fool's...no mean jokes, ok! ;)

What do you do with an 'ugly' (my personal opinion may differ from your own) pair of thrifted (but new) saddle shoes? You refashion them!!! I picked these up for $4 a few months ago and have finally transformed them into something I'll love wearing.

With a bit of gold acrylic paint and a brush, I've been able to rescue these, and don't metallics just make you happy? They do me :).

Here's the before and after shot:

Wanna see my process of trial and error on getting just the right shade? Hop on over to my blog to check it out!

Peace,
Andrea

Cool!
Did you do anything like add varnish or something to set it?
Just going to see the blog.

Not yet, Sandy, but as you'll read I'll be sealing it with mod podge once I've let the paint dry for a full 24 hours ;)

I love them! Gold isn't really my color (I would choose silver), but I love the idea of sprucing up a pair of shoes with paint. Great job!

I love 'em! Perfect for dancing the night away (like Gene Kelly, but much more feminine!) :)
