Lacy... Racy? I hope not!

Hi!

Gorgeous sunny day today - perfect weather for taking pics of my 'new' lace dress :) I have to say, not only does this blog give me ideas and inspiration, it's also a daily kick up the ass behind to get my projects started, and ultimately, finished. I have Andrea to thank for her recent lace skirt post, it was EXACTLY the reading material I needed to get this dress done! :)
Here's the Before shot;

...and that's my "Yes, I've got no idea where this refashioning is going either..," face.

I just knew I wanted it to be less... dreary. It felt a shame to hide the pattern of the lace with all that lining... it was too long... and all-in-all felt a bit overwhelming.

So, in short, I took some of the length off, removed the sleeves, and created a 'peephole' neckline, whereby the lace detail would show against the skin - here's the after;

And some final points;
Firstly, please excuse my footballer knees... hate! (and if you can recommend any exercise to get rid of them, please share!). Secondly, I'm slightly annoyed the hemline is tucked between my legs, making it look uneven - what do you mean, you hadn't noticed? Pah! And thirdly, if you want to hear the full story of how & why I ended up with this, head to my blog :)

Before and After
Have a Wonderful Easter!

This is such an improvement! I absolutely love the final result. The neckline is to die for, and the shorter length was a good idea.

This came out beautifully! Just the right amount of sexy, I say. You and Andrea have me on the lookout for some black lace on my next thrift store run.
