Polo dress

My husband was getting rid of this perfectly good polo shirt, so I snatched it from him. Obviously, it was too big, but I had been thinking of making a polo-shirt dress since I saw this one on Modcloth.

I didn't have enough fabric to pull it off exactly, but I used the polo shirt to create a nice fitted bodice. I removed the sleeves and pocket, then I made bust darts, took in the sides, and stitched down the armholes. For the skirt, I took a men's x-large t-shirt in a matching color, cut it off under the sleeves, and gathered it. I used a wide piece of black elastic to join the bodice and the skirt. I put the pocket back on, closer to the front buttons. Here's the result.

Perfect for a hot summer day! Thanks for reading.  -Amy

Sigh. I've always wanted to try one of those men's polo to dress refashions but I would need to get a much bigger husband first…,
