SWEATER REFASHION: Finally! A sweater skirt!

ONE OF CHARLIE'S OLD SWEATERS

Suck it, sweaters! I did it! I finally did it! I finally refashioned a sweater into a beautiful skirt! I am so happy (if you couldn’t tell by all the exclamation points I’ve used up until this point)! I spent a good portion of Winter 2012 attempting to refashion many of Charlie’s old sweaters into a skirt and failed epically each time. I gave up in frustration but knew I would try again.

I CUT OFF THE SLEEVES AND BELOW THE NECKLINE

At one point during my failures, Charlie said, “Honey, just buy a new skirt.” As much as I love buying something new, I love taking something old and making it new again. I love looking at other projects and think, “I can do that.” I like a good challenge, and I also like saying, “I refashioned it.” So, after reviewing many sweater skirt tutorials, I was ready for the challenge.

NICKNAME: PENROSE APRIL

And my new sweater skirt is so pretty! I love it so much. The length is perfect, and the skirt will keep me warm when winter hits again. I’m so excited and happy that I was FINALLY able to refashion a sweater into a skirt. I absolutely love that feeling of being able to complete a new project and say “suck it” to past failures.
