A Dress Transformation

Hello Refashion Co-opers !

I have a good one for you today !

I went shopping into my own wardrobe this time.  I have had this dress FOREVER !  It is one of those 90's LONG dress.  As I am barely 5 foot 2, this dress was overwhelming me three times !  Here is what it looked like before:

Really pitiful...  And to say I wore this proudly at one time...

A very BIG red dress with a LACED back !  Not flattering AT ALL...

So I picked up my shears and cut the length, cut out those pesky shoulder pads.  As I did not like the tacky metal buttons, which had bled over the fabric, I busted out my fancy-shmancy rhinestone zipper from Moods NYC !  So happy I could use that thing !  And since the dress is made to fit anyone from size 6 to size 14 it seems, I had to finagle my straps because I was swimming in them !  Here is the result:

I am SO happy with it !  You can see more photos on my blog Sewliltime.

Peace !

Claudia

Haha I remember those button down dresses - with the useless back laces! Maybe those laces will become spaghetti straps on a new dress ;) what a lovely job. And the zipper is so fun. Love the bling!
