Plus Size Refashion - Making Tiny Clothes Fit (and Flatter)

As a plus size girl I was feeling locked out of the reFashion craze.  What's an amateur seamstress to do!?  I know, i'll create a way to remake clothes so they'll fit me.  Along the way maybe i'll spark a little inspiration in you!

This dress started out as a size Petite Small.  Today, it's a cute (size 16/18) skirt that I can wear to the office!  Visit my blog for step by step instructions and tips on upsizing smaller clothes.

I hope to continue my plus size refashion journey.  This is just the latest step!

Thanks!
Kathy

Lovely refashion.
I am not plus size, but I was recently given a lot of clothes size XS (I am M), and I made it my mission to find ways to refashion those too. I like to be able to refashion any garment, no matter the size.
So rock on, we need refashioners that shows how to enlargen clothes, too, so we don't limit ourselves in our choice of garments for refashions.

Great point about choosing a garment with gathers or pleats so it will have more material. I've outgrown a number of my clothes and now I'll check them again before donating them, to see if any can be rescued.
