White summer dress shortened from the middle

White cotton and lace dress. It was too wide in the waist and too narrow at the hips.

I removed the section between the bodice and the first row of lace, and sewed the two parts of the dress back together. I removed the zipper althogether, as it wasn't nessasary on the new dress.

A lot better.

A try at styling it.

By the way, I just bought the suit jacket in a thrift shop. I fit me perfectly, except I had to shorten the sleeves by 2½ cm (1")

Looks great with the jacket. Love turquoise and white.

YES, the dress looks heeeeaps better - thumbs up.
Talking about your 'lucky find' with the jacket: to shorten the sleeves only = super lucky!!!
Have been out yesterday with a family with members of 'average' hight of 1,90 m (= actually: only a 9 year old and the family dog are 'under sized' ;-) ) and heard horror-stories about buying garments ^^!

Long live the 'shortleggers' ;-) (= bottoms up!)
