Boho Chic

This weeks challenge for Refashion Runway was boho chic!

I've been hanging onto this dress since the beginning of this challenge and couldn't wait to get started on it!
Not going to lie, it's pretty cute as is!

What boho chic outfit is complete without a vest!?
This is where this blazer comes in! I figured this faux suade blazer would be perfect for a fringe vest!

removed the collar and the sleeves...

I cut some fringe and made triangle cutouts.

I sewed on some leather and attached 3 wood beads and a feather onto the sides.

I used the leftover material from the sleeves to make myself a purse!

I attached some leather cord for a stap.

I must admit this was the first time I have tried to dye something. And I am very happy with how it turned out for my first time.

added white embellishments to my dress.

And I added fabric patches from an old shirt that I had in my refash pile.

I am so pleased with how this turned out! I even wore it to the park to play a round of bocce ball with the husband and our roomie!

A close up of my awesome new purse!

We even went our to dinner and I got an umbrella in my drink!

An excellent interpretation. This dress deserves plenty of wear.
