A Quick Pop with Bias Tape

I picked up this beauty of a dress for $2! It was actually by accident that I came to purchase this dress. I had my arms full of clothes and I was walking towards the register when I caught this baby out of the corner of my eye!
What luck!
Now you might say this dress is totally adorable just the way it is! That's what I said at first until the other day...
My dad and I had done some thrifting and I scored this awesome sewing box FULL of goodies!

I couldn't wait to start using the stuff that came in this box! I kept seeing that mint dress hanging in my closet and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to use some of the navy blue bias tape that came in this box!

So, I sewed some unfolded bias tape to the bottom hem of my dress and folded over more bias tape over the front and back V-neck.

A very simple thing to do and took me no time at all! Which was a good thing because I was taking my husband on a surprise date day!
Ever since our trip to Potter Park Zoo in Lansing I had learned that there was another zoo in Battle Creek, and we were planning on checking it out some day.
Here we are! Binder Park Zoo!

We worked up a thirst and an appetite after our long walk around the zoo! We went into downtown Battle Creek to Arcadia Ales! (The husband LOVES breweries)

Unfortunately our visit here was nothing to write home about. But that's alright because we still had such a fun time together!
