The Black Cords That Were Made Of Steel

Hello Refashion Co-op. It's time to get the winter clothes ready before the first frost. My project today is a great pair of corduroy pants.

These will be nice and cozy all winter long. It's like a sweater for your legs! There is some size adjustment that needs to be made here before I can wear them.

Sewing through all this fabric was very difficult. It seemed like the fabric was steel reinforced. Some needles were lost in the battle. I was able to finish with a leather needle and by using the knob on the side of my machine for the thick waistband.

I am very happy with the end result. I took a little off the sides and the length.

Another piece of clothing conquered. Thanks for reading, for more details about how I was able to get this project done, go to I Can Work With That.

I know how it feels to lose a few sewing needles in the battle. I love taking the time refashion jeans or pants because once they fit just right, I will wear them all the time. Great refashion.

Ive always been nervous about altering pants, how do you alter the waistband without adding too much bulk?

Fit makes such a huge difference.

Sorry it took so long to answer Alyssa. I just cut the extra off the waist and the new seams just blend in after a wash and dry. It is kind of an experiment.
