At the last clothes swap I attended, I picked up a vintage Levi's denim jacket that had seen better days. The collar was dirty and damaged, and the sleeves were a little baggier than I would have liked. I decided to replace the collar and sleeves with black leather, courtesy of a skirt from another clothes swap last year.
I cut off the old sleeves as close to the shoulder seams as possible, then used one as a pattern to cut out two leather sleeves from the skirt. I also removed the worn collar, used it as a template for the leather piece, then reattached the new collar to the jacket.
