A Refash Fit for a Sailor

This refash starts with a sailor themed dress. I almost did not take this home with me because I thought it was too 'costumey'. I thought better of it and took it home anyway!
DSCN0254Oh lord I look like I could be in the Navy!
DSCN0308Those sleeve have got to go!
DSCN0317I had to pull out the old stretched out elastic.
DSCN0316Used my bodkin to thread through my new stretchy elastic!
DSCN0318I took in the sides by 1 1/2 inches.
DSCN0319Took 5 inches off the bottom.
DSCN0322Made a new 1 1/2 inch hem. This was not very easy, the pleates made it very difficult!
DSCN0323Time to finish off the arm holes! I used black bias tape to break up the ocean of blue!
DSCN0305Now no sailor's uniform is complete without gold buttons!
DSCN0354Ready for a night out!
DSCN0352The back!

Sometimes I look at your "before" photos, and I doubt that anything good could come of it, but you always surprise me. You look so cute in your new dress!
