So I thrifted this table cloth in it's bold slightly 60s colours and pattern for only $7.99, but wait...I had a 30% off coupon so that made it only $5.60!
I love the colours and the print, it is so me!!
But unfortunately, someone got some paint or a stain on it so I had to be careful how to cut it for my new dress.
I used this dress which I had previously made from a $4.00 fabric remnant by using a t-shirt that fit me as the pattern for the top and then just lengthening it to my taste. I lay this dress on top of the fabric, being careful to avoid as much of the stain as possible and cut it out. Then it was a simple matter of sewing up the shoulder and side seams, zig zagging the raw edges all around, turning over the arm and neck holes and hemming. I kept the original hem of the table cloth to save time, but even if I had been forced to hem it, this dress would have still come in under the hour mark.
So here it is in all it's glory. I love how it turned out, it fits very well and it was quick and inexpensive. It will be getting a wearing soon I hope, I am wearing shorts today because of the warm weather. What do you think of my tablecloth to dress refashion? Cheers, Michele. Check out my blog Here.
