I purchased this dress at a thrift store that I don't normally visit. I picked it up without really knowing what to do with it. I thought it was kinda ugly and hopeless.
Until...
the light bulb in my brain turned on!
Let's take a closer look at that fabric...Ohh so shiny!
Take a hike poofy shoulder pads!!!
My bright idea was to turn this into a type of greek goddess toga.
I seam ripped the shoulder seams.
I removed this weird piece of fabric from the inside of the neckline. It was seriously cramping my style. I like to call this annoying piece of fabric the bib.
I had to mark where I wanted to sew my clasps. Seeing the toga-ish design?
Greek goddess toga? Hmmm I'm leaning more toward 1930's Hollywood glam!
We went to the Fox Theatre to see Riverdance! I have been waiting to see Riverdance live since I was 9 or 10 years old!!! Let me tell you it was so amazing! Totally worth the wait!
Happy Refashioning!!!

You look so lovely in your toga! What a perfect dress design for your fabric!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :)
DeleteI liked it before but the refashion is stunning on you. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm happy it turned out so well! I agree it was still a very nice design before!
DeleteThis dress definitely worked perfectly for this type of refashion! And gorgeous blue :)

Thank you so much! I love the blue too!
DeleteHi there! I'm subscribed to the Refashion Co-op feed, which is delivered to my inbox. I just wanted to let you know that your images show up in the email all stretched and much too large. I don't have the same issue with other posts in the feed. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your feedback. I will be looking into this and hepefully fixing it soon!
DeleteAnother clever refashion! I find your photos come out weird in the emails, also. It's not bad if yours is the last one in the email, but it's really hard to get to any after yours :-(
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work!
Thank you!
DeleteI'm looking into the photo issue also.
I also have problems with your photos, and only yours, when I see the posts from my mobile/cell phone. Some of them simply don't show up. I suspect it might be because your photos are in a very high resolution.
ReplyDeleteApart from that: Great dress.
