Teeny Tiny Offcuts

Hello, HoffiCoffi here!

It can be hard to find things to do with offcuts of fabric left over from refashions.  Small scraps of cotton fabric can be used for patchwork of course, but I also can't bear to throw away scraps of stretch fabric, or organza.  This is where my Barbies purchased from charity shops or Ebay come in handy!

You may recall I used this shirt and curtain..

To make this dress.

Well here is the tiny version using the offcuts!

I can't resist showing you a few more I made from offcuts of other sewing projects.

Like this top and skirt which are just gathered and lined rectangles and a bow I made by, well, 'winging it'. :)

And this top and trouser set.   I made the trouser pattern by making a copy of a pair of trousers that came with one of my Barbies.  My favourite part is the teeny tiny waistband I also added.

Details of the clothes I had originally made for myself can be found on my blog.

I will return with some proper, for actual people, refashions next time!

OHMYGOSH. So cute! If it were socially acceptable, I'd still play with Barbie dolls :-D

My first sewing and refashion projects were for Barbie and Midge. Before I was old enough to wear those fashions myself. I remember having mine out the same year I took my 1st Home Ec class and started sewing for myself. It was hard to put them away. Thanks Barbie for those 1st sewing inspirations!!!

Love these! I don't think I'd have the patience to sew tiny duds! Great job!

I save things for Barbie clothes too. The only reason I make Barbie clothes is so I can play with Barbies. I just give the clothes away to any child who will take them!
