Hat Tricks

I just moved into a new house, so all my crafting energy has been going into home improvement, but here's a little project I completed a while back—a hat!

Before

After

Making a new hat from an old one is just as simple as taking off the old trim and adding some that is more to your liking.

This hat was a special project, though, because I had to invent a way to keep it on my head. It was much too loose. The solution? I put a headband inside and stitched it to the inner hat band. The headband fits snugly, so it keeps the larger hat from sliding around too much!

More pictures of the hat in action (before the headband fix) on my blog!

  1. Adding the head band was pure genius! I usually find that hats are too small but I will keep this fix in mind.
    Thanks.

  2. I love the new trim. So simple but it makes such a big difference.
