#17 Back to School: Green Crochet Cardigan Updated with Lace

*I pledge not to buy any new RTW or thrifted for my after retirement "Back to School" wardrobe.
*I pledge to shop from my closet.

BEFORE:
Green crochet cardigan from the closet, refashioned this year with only a change from worn crochet buttons to mother of pearl. Posted earlier with white linen pants refashion.
This one qualifies as "Grandmas sweater". It was in my pre-retirement wardrobe for many years.

STEPS:
•   Audition lace in the sewing room stash.
•  Removed the buttons.
    Baste and hand-stitch the lace.
•   Hand-stitch was a great Presidential debate project.

AFTER:
•      Updated lace trim cardigan to wear with jeans, denim skirts, almost anything.

I LEARNED:
I searched Pinterest and found many cute cardigan refashions. Some had lace, others had light weight fabrics.
AFTER: Lace added
Wearing tomorrow with denim skirt.

Lace auditions
in the sewing room stash

Planning process

Wide hem lace is very old.

Hand Stitched
over collar edging.
Sleeve trim.

BEFORE:
1st re-fashion was to remove worn crochet buttons.
Added Mother of Pearl

I really love this, the lace trim "lifts" the cardigan so prettily.
