Waiting for spring

I thought this dress was cute, but it needed a little work to deserve a spot in my wardrobe.

The dress has detachable straps, but the hooks was bend out of shape. I removed them and stitched the straps to the dress, keeping the straps adjustable.

The dress had a bubble skirt, which is very unflattering on me. I cut of the hem and made a new one.

Lastly I sewed a stray button back on. I did think about removing all the buttons, but I think they are funny/cute in a 90's sort of way.

Now I just need weather warm enough to wear it. At present weather fluctuates between 3-10 C (37-50 F). Rain, sun, sleet, sun again, rain again, hail, strong winds, no wind a.s.o. Oh the joys of coastal climate
Though with the odd spike at 19 C (66 F) three days ago, but before I could run to the wardobe for lighter clothes, it was colder again...

I don't think those bubble skirts look good on anyone, big improvement.

This will be perfect on you this summer. And I've seen similar layered with legging and tops for cooler days.

I have been wanting to make a bubble skirt just to see what it would look like. I will keep thinking about it, I don't want to waste my time. I love seeing others posts and learning from them. This dress looks great on you now. Thanks for sharing.
