From Skirt to One Shoulder Ruffle Tank

I have a thing for floral prints and couldn't pass up this skirt at the thrift store.  I thought the abstract print would translate well into into a modern but feminine one shoulder ruffle tank.

First, I chopped up the skirt and made a ruffle from the bottom of the skirt.

Then a made a one shoulder tank from the rest of the skirt.  The blue fabric you see is the lining of the skirt that I reused as a lining for the top.

Next, I attached the ruffle to the tank.

Then I made a bias binding for the shoulder hole and threaded elastic through it.

Here's a close up of the ruffle.

This loose fitting top is perfect for hot summer days.  For a step by step tutorial on how to refashion a skirt into a one shoulder ruffle top, check out my blog www.trevorlovesmommy.com.
