The Easy Peplum Top

Hello Refashion Co-op. I had a cute little plaid dress that needed an update. It looked a little like a school uniform. I didn't like that look on me so I decided to make a top out of it.

I cut off the bottom (About 12 inches.) of the dress and left enough to have a nice peplum (About 4-5 inches.) at the waist. I hemmed the raw cut edge so it would look nicely finished.

It turned out really well. I love the peplum, it is fun to wear but still simple and feminine. It has happily lost the school uniform look.

Thanks for reading, for more pictures and details go to I Can Work With That.

I agree great refashion & I would follow a tutorial to replicate if you created one.

Hi Maria. If you follow the link to my blog you can see a little more info. The dress fit really well so I just cut off the skirt and made a new hem. That was it. I guessed the length, I wanted it long enough to cover my stomach, even if I raised my arms. But not so long it went past my hips. Hope that helps.
