Dresses For December Part 2, The Jacket Dress

Hello Refashion Co-op. I am working on dresses this month. Today's dress started as a sort of jacket. It was open in the front and had a loose fit. I thought it would make a great dress.

You can see the way the front hangs open, I can't wear it like this. I hand stitched it closed. I could machine sew around the buttons without damaging them. Sometimes hand sewing is safer. It looked nice sewed closed.

The jacket was too big so I made it a little smaller on each side. There wasn't any stretch in this fabric so I had to leave it loose enough to get on and off over my head.

My dress was finished and I was ready to go.

Thanks for reading, for more pictures and details go to I Can Work With That.

I don't know how you would wear that in its original form. Looks good as a dress.

Super cute as a dress! You have the eye for refashion. I look at garments and don’t always see the vision.

Thanks ladies! It was an unusual garment for sure but I like it as a dress too.
