The Plaid Skirt Dress

Hello Refashion Co-op. I saw a refashion by Sarah Tyau recently that I really loved. She made her dress from a plaid coat. When I saw it I knew what I wanted to do with this plaid skirt. Big thanks to her for the inspiration.

I cut out my simple skirt. I really wanted to keep that buckle at the waist.

I cut the bottom of the skirt off so I could use the fringe on my shoulder straps.

I used the extra fabric to make the front bib and a pocket. I stitched the straps to the front bib. I used Velcro to connect the bib to the skirt so I could wear the skirt alone if I wanted to.

I was happy with how the dress turned out and I like the versatility of wearing the straps or not.

I love Sarah's transformations, too! You found a nice plaid to work with. A successful end product, Chickie!
