Poncho to Kimono

Hello Refashion Co-op. I had a beautiful poncho with fabulous shades of blue and green. It was really lovely, it was just too big.

I cut the sides out to make a kimono shape. I used my machine to connect the sides. I also cut it down the middle to open it up. I turned the edge under and stitched that down.

When I was done I had a fun kimono style jacket that fit so much better than the poncho.

Thanks for reading along. For more pictures and details go to I Can Work With That.

It looks so much better and enhances your figure! Did you save the scraps to make a belt?

I did save the scraps but the front and back of the poncho were connected so well I could not unpick the stitches without ruining the pretty fabric. It was a bummer. But I like my new kimono jacket so it was worth it to refashion.

Good info. Lucky me I recently found your website by accident (stumbleupon). I've bookmarked it for later!
