My fav is sweater dresses with leggings.
Found this treasure at the 'by-the-lb' Good Will and it had pockets-BONUS!

Oops! Found why this was in the GW pile
Here is the hand sewn fix

Trimmed the seam to cover the fix

Added front trim to match the back
Close up on right pocket trim
This is a nice fit with the repaired leggings from last month.

Hello again from Cari's Frocks

The ingredients: Good Will tank/tunic with interest. Wide lace, brown trim and satin cording.

The brown trim and lace were sewn on all at once, then all the cording was laced thru.

Now the top is just a bit longer. NICE. I wear it with brown or cream leggings or skinny pants.

Easy peasy

Hello again from Cari's Frocks.

My name really is  Cari Frock
 and
 I LOVE to sew.

My son is always sharing finds. He says this one looks like I already worked it.

There was a slit up the side that was split, so all it did was cut the angle and add leggings.

Started with the under dress and did repairs.

All the way around

The sheer over dress had longer side tails allowing the under dress trim to show in the front and the back.

From Cari's Frocks

Hello again from Cari's Frocks.  My name really is
Cari Frock
and I LOVE to sew.

I spent July prepping the yard and house for a week long crafting event I was hosting. Ladies came to SC from NC, MI and PA. Such a blast! The pic below shows the main event, tho we also did felting, scrapbooking, photography, lots of eating, sightseeing and of course SEWING.
My 16-yr-old niece had 2 prom gowns that we altered to fit. She LOVES to sew and next month we are attending classes together in Detroit.

The gal that did the 3-d canvas instruction brought a shirt that needed attention. I was so excited, cuz I knew I needed an August posting and wasn't sure how I would fit it in this month.

Here's her shirt

and...

there's the problem- gauzey-ness didn't seam well to the cotton knit.

So-

we found this 'fabric' in my Good-Will-by-the-pound stash and the color was a perfect match.

however, we got creative and decided to put the front on the back. We added some trim and

TADA! She loved it!

refashioning gauze gown

Hello again from Cari's Frocks.  My name really is Cari Frock and I LOVE to sew.

Started with a full length gauze gown. Needed some light weight fabric for last month's project ( some underskirting) so I cut off the ruffle and sewed it back on with some beaded lavender trim. The last pic shows the top over a lavender T and white Capri.  I will probably trim the sleeves on the T. Love the color on the trim matching the color on the T coming thru the V-necked lace.

Good Will Special

Hello again from Cari's Frocks.  My name really is Cari Frock and I LOVE to sew.

Looking through my patterns, saw the one in the pic and hatched a plan.

When I went to the Good Will I was able to collect all the garments used (except the cotton gauze, that was given from my mom.)

Pinching the Pennies for X-mas finds

Hello again from Cari's frocks.

My name really is Cari Frock and I LOVE to sew.

Found this at my favorite by the pound Goodwill, which was 1/2 off on Sundays!

Just the right size for my granddaughter.

Recently found a Fabric Warehouse that is open to the public one weekend per month.

For a great price I scored this eyelash trim.
Eyelash installed and topped with more trim.

Finished product, soo cute.
