From skirt to jacket!

We started with a skirt, of course!
And ended up with a jacket!  This is probably one of the most fantastic refashions we've ever done, and we'd love you to visit Skirt Fixation and read all about it!  Although spring weather has now hit, you can tell by the photos, I did get this finished in time for several more snowy weeks!

Skirt to Pants!

We started with a skirt, of course!  Are you seeing a trend here?  I don't have a before photo, but you can just about imagine it.  I'd made it when I was a teenager!
I just laid my pattern piece out on the existing skirt and cut out around it, keeping the original waistband and pockets...bonus!  Then I sewed up the crotch seam and the inseam, hemmed it and I was done!
To see the other pajama pants I made, head on over to Skirt Fixation!

The UGLY Skirt Challenge Strikes Again!!

Dear Refashioners,

The UGLY Skirt Challenge has struck again, and this time it was a two-fer all the way around.  First there was this hideous, reversible skirt (two sided=the first two-fer!)
So who was on the receiving end of the lovely piece of work?  It was one of our own...the amazing Carissa!  And here's a teaser photo of Carissa's handiwork...
So where's the second two-fer?  Well, you're going to have to go check it out over at Skirt Fixation where you can find not only this amazing transformation, but also all the other pieces in the UGLY Skirt Challenge series!

The U.G.L.Y. Skirt Challenge strikes again!!!

We found another willing recipient for the U.G.L.Y. skirt challenge, and this time it was someone you know well, Give The Cat A Name!  Here is the skirt we sent her in all it's putrid glory:
Poor thing!  But she was game, and did a magnificent job.  We can only give you a sneak peek of the after, since it's her photographs, but here's the after peek:
Head on over to Skirt Fixation for more details, and to sign up for your own U.G.L.Y. skirt challenge!  (Insert evil cackling and wicked hand rubbing!!)

A little refashion project of ours needs your vote!

Hey there fellow refashions, we need your help!  We refashioned 2 white shirts (one from Daddy, and one from Mommy!) into this cute little top. (No before photos, but you know what a plain white t-shirt looks like!!)

And we entered the whole outfit into a sewing competition and made it to the top 10!  Now we need your help...this is the last day for voting, and we (Skirt Fixation) are very behind in the vote!  So we'd love it if you had a few seconds to click on this link, scroll down to the end of the post, and vote for Skirt Fixation...that's us!
And to see the rest of the photos we took, including the fun bubbles and the amazing reflections, see our post here.
Thanks, you are amazing!

My favorite refashion EVER!

I sacrificed a vintage lace tablecloth for a refashion!  (Nothing is safe in my house anymore!)
And there was also this green maternity dress I didn't need anymore.
But here are the fantastic results.
Yeah, I'd say it was worth it!  See how we did it over at Skirt Fixation.

An UGLY skirt!

We've got a new series on our blog.  It's called the U.G.L.Y. skirt challenge, and it's all in good fun.  We send an ugly skirt to some poor, unsuspecting, but willing participant, and they refashion it!  Here is a glimpse into our ugly skirt stash...
Yep, pretty amazing, huh?!?!

Well, we sent someone this skirt:
Incredible!  We are only allowed to show you a glimpse of her work, but here's an after photo peek:

Head over to Skirt Fixation to read all about it.  Oh, and if you want us to send you an ugly skirt, just drop us an email!  (Insert evil cackle!!)

A "fitting" refashion for the baby!

Don't you think it's "fitting" that I refashioned my maternity shirt into a cute little button up for the baby?

(That's not me in the before picture, but I forgot to take one!  And it looked just like that shirt anyway!)  Read about how I did this on our blog, Skirt Fixation!

The Rest of the Skirt!

Hi, it's Skirt Fixation again!  Last week I promised to show you what I used the rest of the skirt for.  Remember that cute little elephant I made for my little boy?  Well, here's what his older sister received from that same skirt!
And another skirt except it was red.  And the dress I used for the lining.  This top is a pattern I was testing for Terri from Sew Straight and Gather, and it should be released soon!  Here is the post where you can find all the details.  (Have you entered the giveaway on our blog?  Only one more week!)

From A Skirt to An Elephant!

Sometimes you just have a little left over from a refashion.  Sometimes, I throw those scraps away, but here's one scrap that made it into another refashion!  This is a good way to cover up a stain on a shirt.
Next week I'll show you what I used the rest of the skirt for!  Come on over to Skirt Fixation to see what else we've been up to!  (There's a giveaway going on right now!)
