Queen Bee Halloween

Welcome Halloween 2020! This is always one of my favorite times of the year! Making my own Halloween costume is so much fun!

This year I will be making this LBD into a Queen Bee costume!

I found the wings as well as the antenna headband at Dollar Tree!

I got lucky enough to find this perfect crown at my local grocery store!

I removed the wings from the antenna headband and removed the gold crown from its headband. I slid the crown onto the antenna headband ðŸ™‚

Then I used some gold glitter fabric paint to add more flair to the wings! You can never have enough glitter, right?

I removed the loops that held the ribbon in place and I removed the ribbon as well.

The tiers of the dress were too long for what I needed, so I trimmed those. This is the aftermath.

I added 3 stripes of yellow tulle onto the front and stitched them to the sides of the dress.

I continued to cut different lengths of black and yellow tulle, then pinned them underneath the sheer tier fabric of the skirt part of the dress.

Bring on those trick or treaters! Buzz Buzz!

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Refashioning, crafting and upscaling!!!

A Clasic White Shirt

Hello Refashion Co-op. How are you doing? I hope you are having a beautiful fall. I did not have a white button-down shirt in my wardrobe so when my husband said he didn't want this shirt anymore I knew I would refashion it for myself. A white shirt would go with anything, I needed it. (I wanted it.)

This shirt is great but it is too big and long on me.

I made the sleeves and the body shorter and more narrow.  I removed the cuffs and made the sleeves 3/4 length.

I reattached the cuffs and made box pleats in the sleeves.

The shirt fits great now. It looks like MY shirt and not my husband's shirt. The sleeves are my favorite part.

The Belt Bag

Hello Refashion Co-op. I hope you are well and happily sewing something fabulous. My latest project was a belt bag made of suede.

The original suede vest made me like a cowboy in the old west. It matched this belt exactly and that gave me the idea.

I cut out my bag pieces and stitched them together.

The suede was easy to work with and put together.

diy off shoulder shirred top with sleeves from skirt

I found my inspiration for this shirred top with sleeves on Assos. I really like the shirring idea as it can change non elastic fabric into very fitting. To sew this top I used thrifted large skirt in pretty dotted pattern. The fabric was 100 % non elastic so it was perfect candidate for shirring
