Vintage Sears Refash

I have to tell you this is my favorite refash right now! I am so proud of how it turned out!

Might be in need of some reshaping! I know matchy-matchy isn’t exactly ‘in’ right now but I looooooove this look!

Vintage Sears!

For the skirt I chopped off 6+ inches off the bottom and sewed a new hem.

I cut a 3- inch slit and accented it with 3 buttons that I borrowed from the top.

I was really hated to chop up this top because I loved how it came to points at the bottom. (I saved the buttons for the skirt!)

My original plan was to make the top into a crop vest, but I changed that a bit…

New hem for the top!

This has such a vintage tennis or golf feel to it!

I even accented my new outfit with my vintage seagull brooch and vintage handbag!

Grandmom's House Dress

Hello Readers. Did your grandmother wear casual house dresses or something like this when she was at home? My Grandmom did. When I saw this dress at a swap I thought of my Grandmom. Could I make it look less like a robe and more like a summer dress.

I decided to remove the big puffy sleeves first and stitch the excess fabric under the big collar.

I also took the sides in a bit and made a tie belt from the excess fabric when I shortened the dress.

A Summer Bag

Hello Refashion Co-op. I wanted to make a quick and easy summer bag.

I had fabric and bamboo handles that my mother-in-law gave me so I wanted to put them to use.

This bag was very simple but it involved a lot of turning inside out and right-side out...

... and back again to finish.

It really was a quick project and didn't require any other hardware to finish.

Butterflies πŸ¦‹ to the rescue!

                 Hello refashion co-op!

My 2 year-old daughter has this t-shirt which has now some stains. I was not able to remove them, so I had to think something to cover them.

I had two butterflies from broken hair accessories and took off another one from a garment that was not actually visible.

But I was not satisfied. It seemed very plain.
I made decorating stitch at the sleeves with my sewing machine and simple hand stitch for the butterflies:

I think the butterflies rescued this t-shirt indeed!

A Touch of Gold Lace

Well hello there! I hope all of you are kicking off your summer! I have a long overdue Refash for you!

I’ve been hanging onto this army green tank top with the intent to refash it, but it got put by the wayside. Today is it’s day to shine!

I’ve also had this gold lace tank top for far to long. It’s cute but I am so over how it’s longer in each side. Time for an update!

I placed the gold lace tank on my dress form and then layered the army green tank top in top.

I pinned the straps together and around the neck and back.

I stitched the 2 tanks together.

Lastly, I cut off the excess of the lace tank top so all that was left was that stitched around the top.

Went for a family nature walk sporting my new tank top!

Early Summertime Jammies

This refash is brought to you by: Neighbor Sandy! That’s right! This is another gifted outfit! I am in love with these coral polka dot jammies! But it has been so hot here in Michigan I decided these jammies needed a face lift!

I cut off the bottom on the top to make it shorter. I decided not to see a new hem since this fabric is cotton and it won’t unravel. Also, I think the absence of a hem would feel more comfortable!

Once the length was taken care of I took in each of the sides. I definitely wanted to make the top more fitted but not too tight. These are pajamas after all!

I laid a pair of shorts I already had on top of the pants. Then I cut off the length of the legs. First I used my pinking shears then I remembered I wasn’t doing to hem the shorts so I trimmed the shorts just a touch more.
