I simply turned the shirt inside out and sewed a new straight stitch on the shoulder seam. Apparently, a new seam makes the sleeve a little smaller and the neckline a little higher. The whole process took less than 30 minutes.
I'm happy the fix was super easy since all I have is a needle and thread (still no sewing machine -- winter tires for the car a little more important). Now, I have a more appropriate shirt for work.

Wow! You are fast at hand sewing. Nice save!
ReplyDeleteI have one of the old navy vintage tees. Love it! Except for the low neckline. (I have bigger arms, so that part doesn't bug me.)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why I have trouble commenting.. Fat thumbs, I guess. I definitely meant to say, great job fixing what will likely become a staple in your wardrobe! Pinned it! :D
