Hello Refashion Co-op. I found is dress at a clothes swap and thought the color was great. I also thought it would be comfortable in the heat. When I got it home I saw how saggy the top looked. Does anyone want a saggy bust? I don't think so.
I cut off the top portion carefully so I could save the waistband.
I made an opening and put in some elastic.
Here is my finished skirt. It was so fast and easy. The pretty green color that attracted me originally is still there so I am pretty happy.
Thanks for reading, now go make something fun for yourself.
Very nice new skirt! I think the color too!

Thanks Marissa!
ReplyDeleteI think I bought that same dress in gray. I think I brought it home from a thrift sale during the colder months and never even tried it on. It's a small and the top shows too much front-armpit area and the cleavage might not be appropriate for work.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking I should just donate it back, but after seeing how nice your quick fix worked I'm gonna go do that right now!
Lovely work. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThat is great Erica! Some company somewhere is making too many tiny dresses aren't they?
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for your comment Claire.
Lovely colour. Thanks for sharing this great way to reuse a dress

Girls, occasionally 'saggy bust-parts' in a dress can get fixed a bit by giving them a lift and lining them 1/2 tad smaller then the outer part = better bust appearance!
ReplyDeleteLoving greetings,
Gerlinde
Hello Gerlinde. It's funny you mention that. The dress had a lining done just like that but it didn't do anything for my figure. I will keep it in mind for next time though. Thanks.
