floral shirt refashion

Hello there!

This is a very simple refashion. Not to mention that the materials needed (one large oversize boxy shirt) is readily available in any thrift store, op-shop, or garage sale you visit.

We found this amazing floral print shirt at one of our favorite thrift stores here in Nashville, along with a few other boxy tops. I tried to wear it as is, by belting in in the middle, or knotting it a la the 80's, but the volume of this tee just looked bad on me, being a very small woman :P.

Here is what we did in WORDS:
We simply flipped the tee inside out, and pinned where we wanted to take it in (several inches on each side, plus a little in the sleeves). Rather than pinning straight down, we gave a little more room starting at the waist to create a top that could be worn as a short dress over leggings. Turned on the sewing machine, stiched it together, cut the excess fabric and "ta da!"
