I started with 3 t-shirts that I have had for 10+ years, but stopped wearing awhile ago.

I loved and still love the "crinkle tie-dye" pattern on the shirts, but didn't see much point in wearing large animal faces from trips I took in 8th grade.... I always thought I would do something with the fabric (before I had even heard the term refashion) so I saved them.
I decided to do a basic 6 panel skirt
I had hoped to make it a circle skirt, but there wasn't enough fabric to make the skirt long enough. (this is why the triangles don't lay flat nicely)I used the inside face of each shirt and the existing bottom hem, so the hem of the skirt is the inside of a regular t-shirt hem, but it looks fine I think.
I found after I sewed the panels together that there was not enough elasticity in the existing t-shirt material (and I measured poorly) so the skirt was way to wide. I added a strip of fabric for a draw string and made the "string" out of some stretched scraps from the t-shirts (like t-shirt yarn). Its hard to tell from the photos, but its just slightly longer than knee length.
It has a nice twirl to it.Since its t-shirt material, its super comfortable. Of my refashions so far, this one will probably get the most use.
