anyway, enough about me. my first project i'll write about here are two t-shirt skirts. i used a couple of ideas from the book "reconstructing clothes for dummies" as a jumping point, but did them my own way. for my first skirt, i used up every centimeter of these two t-shirts which were a bit too tummy-baring for my liking.
i didn't refinish the inside seams, but i did overlock the hem to make it less raggedy. the waistband is very easy to do, just the bottom part of a shirt folded over and fitted, but i honestly prefer a waistband with elastic.
for the second skirt i used a long-sleeved shirt and just used a strip of the brown shirt for the elastic waistband.
so here's the other assymetrical skirt, this time with a wide elastic inside the waistband (much better!) and visible overlocked seams on the outside.
these skirts are so comfortable, just what you'd expect from something made out of comfy t-shirts! then i love how fun they are to wear. they swish and swirl as you walk (or spin your little boy!) or whenever there's a little breeze!
for more info, check out this post! see you soon... looking forward to my next post here! :)
Love these skirts. They are quirky and instantly catch your eye. The second skirt is brilliant and I like how unique they are.
