How To Hem Flare Leg Jeans

I really wanted to have the original hem intact when I shortened this pair of flare leg jeans by a little over 4 inches. However, after too much time looking online, I realized that any hemming jeans tutorial I was coming across that allowed you to keep the original hem only worked with straight leg jeans.

So I decided to figure it out myself and write an easy to follow, step-by-step tutorial with words and pictures.
