One Pattern Many Looks Part 8

Hi Everyone!

I hope everyone is holding up well this holiday season. My little ones at school (and my big ones at home) are so excited for Christmas break it has been difficult to stay focused. Despite this, I am determined to keep things going at Mary's Thrifty Chic. So, here is my latest offering.

.This is the before, a beautiful chiffon skirt in a reptile style print. It was a size 16 so it was way too big to use as is. Using my trusty handmade basic pattern, I had a different vision of how to use the waistband in the final project.

.Here is the after. I was able to give the blouse a whole new look by using the waistband around the neck. You will see in the tutorial that I even incorporated the zipper in the design.

.It is another basic for my wardrobe I know, but my lifestyle is not fancy so my wardrobe isn't either. It is the practical midwestern girl inside of me. Sure, I could make a lot of fancy dresses and skirts, but I would have little or no occasions to wear them! In my mind, refashions must be practical, fashionable, and wearable or they are just a waste of time.

.

Here I am "Ready to Rumble" with my 3rd graders.
