‘Can’t buy the fabric for that price’.
You know what I mean.
It was too big, too long and a bit too low cut but the style of this on-sale dress at East was just what I wanted for a week in St. John AVI next month.
I chopped off ten inches in a loop
thinking that I could use a bit of it for a modesty panel and the rest for a scarf.
However,
taking away the weight in ten inches of hem made that V a lot less deep (it doesn’t much look it on Dorothea, but trust me on this). A hook and eye will be just fine. If I do want some more cover,
I can make that happen. It's got an infinity dress thing going on, don't you think? I was going to make one with my recent Paris haul of knits and cottons.
so cute! and isn't it amazing that just chopping off length fixed the neckline issues?! Good buy :)
ReplyDeleteLove this refashion. It is straight forward and turned out great.

Nice, I bet the heavy weight of the fabric was contributing to the low cut, totally changes when you remove it! Looks nice and flowy still!

ReplyDeleteAmazing how a simple hem can change an outfit? I love it, and I love the new infinity scarf to match. Great job!
