No-Mojo No-Sew

Hey Chicas!

I have been in a funk with sewing all of a sudden. I seem to have lost my mojo for some reason :/ I'm wondering if it's partly because I lost a lot of my sewing space; I now have to work from home for my job and while it's nice, I have basically lost 1/2 of my sewing area, and the remaining 1/2 is now in our bedroom, so I can't even chill in the office with my husband anymore :( Have any of you ladies had to downsize your sewing space? How did you get out of your funk?

Last night I did force myself to do a little project though. I'm very happy with the results, but I didn't have a lot of fun doing it. I need to snap out of it!

*attempts to look edgy* All I did was make some slashes in the sides and sleeves of this tee, and cut off the neckband! I actually cut a slightly lower scoop back as well that I wasn't able to get a good pic of.

Sorry for the terrible iPhone photos >_>

I wanted to make it look a little slashy, since the design is actually the skeleton pirates of the Black Pearl from 'Pirates of the Caribbean'

I'm actually super pleased with the arms; they looks very bone-like!

And there it be! I'm trying to feel a little more motivated today to make the best of an 'eh' situation. Wish me luck!!!

  1. Hope you get your motivation back.
I had an off phase - I've got enough clothes and insufficient storage already, but refashioning is a hobby as well.

  2. My sewing room used to be an entire spare bedroom, but with the birth of another child, got downsized to a corner of an attic room, roughly 1/4th of the original space. I took the opportunity to purge my supplies and reorganize everything (something that was long overdue) and got some new, pretty organizational items and supplies. That was enough to get me excited about the new space, but it's definitely been an adjustment!

  3. I've been in sewing funks before and forcing myself to do a small project, like this one, is usually what snaps me out of it. Hope it works for you too!

  4. Sweet! I like the arms a lot. And I totally get the loss of space issue. For the first time in years I don't have my own space to create and it's really bumming me out. I feel your pain! :)
