I often ponder to myself, when I'm in the middle of a sewing project, how useful it would be to have another seamstress next to me... Both of us, working away with a cuppa, periodically looking up from the machine or cutting floor (!) to discuss things like interfacing... and seam allowances... I know that's the kind of thing that would send some people off into a LONG sleep (!) - but that would just be a dream to me. And, it would also have prevented me from making such a BIG mistake with this coat refashion.
All my sister wanted was new buttons, and something colourful. What I gave her (the first time around) was an EPIC FAIL. In short, everything fell off.
I have NO excuses here - it's just plain laziness that happened the first time around. So yes, a stitch in time would DEFINITELY have saved nine. ANYWAY.
Finally, I made my peace with it... And here she is, in the finished, reworked, rescued, coat...
For the sake of brevity, I've left the sorry sewing story out of this post (!) - but if you want to know why I nearly set fire to it, have a look at the process, in full,
here...
In the meantime, keep your inspirational posts coming... you are my 'seamstress-sisters-in-spirit'!
