Hello Refashion Co-op. I had this blue sweater from my maternity days. I decided to make a warm cozy skirt out of it.
I started shaping the top into a waistband and closing the front. I turned the raw edge at the top under and used a zigzag stitch to give it a little stretch.
Here you can see how it opens so I can get it on and off.
Here is my completed skirt just in time for the coldest weather we have had so far this year. It was a terribly cold day but my new skirt is warm and cozy.
Thanks for reading, for more pictures and details go to
The skirt looks so comfy, such a clever refashion, and a neutral colour to go with everything.
ReplyDeleteVery cute and cozy! I'd like to offer that buttons (just for looks) all the way down the front might add a little something extra to the look. Of course, it's cute the way it is too! Good job!!
ReplyDeleteVery good idea!
ReplyDeleteI have long wanted to make one of these. Yours looks fab! Love it!

ReplyDeleteThanks Ladies. I like your button idea E, but I didn't have enough large buttons. Maybe a trip to the fabric store is in order!! :)
