Removing Jean Pockets

Hello Refashion Co-op. I found these jeans at a thrift store and they were super soft. They felt like sweat-pant-jeans. I loved them and thought hey would be so comfy.

Do you see something is a little "off"? What is up with these pockets??

I had to remove the lopsided pockets. I unpicked the stitches from the inside so I would not damage the front of the jeans.

There were some white marks from the stitches on the front of the jeans. I used black and blue permanent markers to make little dots on the white marks. It sounds crazy but it filled in the missing color really well.

I liked the plain dark wash without any pockets (Or stitch marks.) on the front. Thanks for reading a lot, to see more go to I Can Work With That.

Just in case the 'stitch marks' are returning (after some washes): how about adding both pockets again? One in its original place and the other a more visible tad further down than its original spot?
The little bit of stitch marks showing at the top could be 'covered up' by some sort of mock-flap (on both pockets)?
Sorry, but I had 'bad experience' with permanent markers on washed materials by not being 'permanent' long/well enough.
Yet I LOVE your brilliant idea of mixing TWO colours of markers as immediate solution!

What a great a find! and a great solution. I like the no pockets smooth front better also.

Smart to use a marker to hide the white spots! A few years ago I slipped and fell on the first day I wore a new pair of dark jeans (grrrr). The fabric on my right knee was damaged a little and faded, and I used oil pastel crayons (blue combined with black) to hide the faded spot. It worked! After the first wash I had to redo it a little but after the second try it stuck;).
