You may remember the jeans wall hanging I made of our cat Max earlier this year. I really had fun making it so I was keen on trying it again. And when saw this drawing of a blue titmouse, made by Dutch artist Katja Dupont, I could imagine it being transformed in jeans.
Katja makes beautiful drawings of animals with a fineliner, so if you like the blue titmouse, you should definitely take a look at her website Ijzerhart.net.
As you can see I used fraying on the chest, the tail and the crest. I finished the little bird with some embroidery, I stitched the bird's legs and snail with blue gradient thread and used black thread with a white french knot for the little eye. I was really happy how it turned out and... I'm very glad that Katja also appreciated the transformation of her drawing in jeans!

Please don't kill me - despite deserved for my (still/most times!) cheeky way of commenting to your post here - yet:
THIS is imh sort of '10-star-rating' for patching a hole*; despite only a tinier one due to the little body of the bird.
Yes, 'The Professional/Patient One' you are: standing ovation from over here!
Greetings & PS: I'll tear a hole into some jacket over here in a hurry if I'll get the little bird ;-)
I can visualise your amused-annoyed waving hand to this comment saying something like "... heeeeer again ..." hence you're freed of any response.
* previous post/discussion we've had
You're truly a master to teach us 'possibilities' of the much nicer kind instead of only sheer - yet at least funny - ways of doing 'The (patching hole) Job' !
Please remember: it takes easier starts of/to 'The Job' for beginners, very busy ones &/or 'fence sitters' concerning sewing (or even the possibility of it) at all.
I'll happily remember the other way round: any surely still not as good results as yours, even when I'm once more 'grown up' in skills'.
Thank you so much to you for being such a brilliant idol/star.
This gratitude and admiration is actually going in 'matching levels' to all other refashionco-op.blogspot participants as well = might feel good to them in a readable version in todays less & less time for praise yet 'constant readiness to yell out any - even very minor- criticism'
Hi G, thanks for the positive feedback. I'm sort of fond of this little bird myself so don't start tearing up jackets, pants etc. yet:). I've thought about the patch idea, it's a great idea, someone else mentioned it too in the 'Max' cat wall hanging I made in February. But it would have to be a lot more solid/sturdy to be wearable. Maybe something like 'Crack free' spray starch would work... I'll give it some thought. Anyway, you're right, there have definitely been so many original and creative refashionistas here (with much better technical skills than me to be honest, but thanks for the '10-star' rating:)) and they alle deserve a lot of praise!
New 'brain fart' of mine: how about working 'The Birdie' into sort of brooch/medallion? This would give both of you more sort of freedom.
To you the freedom of choice to wear it more often. To 'The Birdie' a tad 'more air' (visibility/advertising?*) despite not being able to fly whilst you're surely not flying off when stepping out of your house (yet possibly sometimes IN-house when things are not working out as they should ;-) ?)
This brooch way/version would rescue 'The Birdie' from quite some wear&tear&washing damage, wouldn't it?
Yet, I have to admit: my own fiddling fingers of handling a brooch might rather 'ask' for a more wear&tear&wash-proofing of a thing the like ;-) & /..\
Thinking cap on ?
Love, G.
