Twirling in This is My New Favorite Past Time

I'm a 15 year old Audrey living in the Chicago suburbs, this is my 6th completed dress but my first post. I'm hoping to maybe eventually start selling my dresses at a near by vintage/thrift store but i figured I should get some feedback first.... so here it is, Dress 6.

Before:
This dress featured an oh so very (not) flattering, 6 inch wide, awkwardly located, elastic section along with a modest button up front. For $3 at an Atlanta Goodwill, it was like getting an averagely weird dress for $3.

After:

I turned it around, chopped a bunch of stuff off, created a belt out of left over fabric, used the chopped off buttons to fasten the belt in the back, and then frolicked around for a while.

If you'd let me know what you think, that'd be nice.

  8. Oh this is lovely, well done! I'm interested to know if you have done anything with the collar you removed? Have you seen that people are making detachable collars like this with a tie around the neck to wear with different outfits? A bit like this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=356301.0

    Maybe you could try it

  11. "In my day"(creak, creak) we used to wear collars like that that were detachable and we would wear them with sweater, etc.

Keep the collar and wear it.

  13. Thank you everybody for the kind comments, I'm oh so flattered and maybe blushing a bit. The collar idea is terrific! I'll get right to work on that and post something when it (hopefully) turns out.

  14. The original dress was way stiff and too conservative for your youthful age. The refashion is adorable, youthful, and very cute. Would love to see more of your creative refashions. It's always wonderful to see an ugly, dowdy, and/or too old looking garment refashioned into something lovely.
