When I saw these floral Ralph Lauren capris at the 50 cent sale I just HAD to have them! They reminded me so much of gardening gloves I figured I'd use them for my gardening pants, er shorts!

Besides being too big in the waist the capris also suffered from saggy butt syndrome (not at all flattering). Since both issues needed to be adressed I decided on taking them in on the butt seam (theres really no other way to describe it).

See you can't even tell!
Then it was time to take care of the length issue!

I even got a little adventurous with the thread color...

Green in a zigzag stitch! So darning!
This took me no time at all! I even had the rest of the day to rid my landscaping of all the weeds that seemed to pop up over night!

And there ya go! All set for many a day spent outside in the yard! It's hard work but I can still look cute doing it!
Happy Refashioning!!!!

You know, I keep passing up on the floral capris because I think I'm too old to wear them, but this is a perfect solution - buy 'em for gardening! Yours are so cute! And you have two good hacks there - the center back seam for taking in, and the shorter, turned up leg length. Good inspiration here.
Really cute transformation. They look totally updated.
