I make stuff.

Seamstress, tailor, sewist, upcycler, fashion designer, diy'er. What do you consider yourself? Me- well I like to think of myself as a fabric artist. I'm Jenelle, mommy of 2 boys, and a sleep deprived lunatic. I repurpose tshirts and bring home a little bread and butter while having so much fun.

If your looking for an easy lickity split no sew project check this out. I call it the Donut Bacon Roll Scarf! Theres a complete tutorial here. And seriously, I want to know what you call yourself or do you just tell people, "I make stuff."

I used to say "costume cannibalizer" but lately I haven't been much more than just a "craft dabbler".

I agree with the 'craft' idea, because most of us do more than one thing, whether it's invent cool Bacon Roll Donut Neclackes or just tear up clothes and put them together!

I normally just tell people "Yeah I'm really into crafts" or "I do make clothes sometimes." because that's what they're normally asking about. (Their eyes glaze over when I mention the crochet robot project or the embroidered quails.)

I generally go with the "I like to make stuff" line. Fortunately, I grew up in a crafty family, and have enough crafty friends that this isn't considered weird.

Also, your scarf is kind of making me hungry. Mmmm, bacon.

I love the question Jenelle, thanks for bringing it up.
I guess I also end up going with a mumbled - I just like to craft stuff. But lately I have been thinking of saying textile artist because I do dabble in so many different textile related media.

Thanks!
Eddie

I did a little editing in your labels.

Remember to stick to the labels listed and your username, which I have now set to Jenelle-TrashN2Tees as we can't use @ in a username :-)
If you want to change the username just let us know.

I look forward to seeing some more of your refashions.

I find calling yourself a fabric artist just opens you up to more questions. While I do like the title, I still end up doing the I make stuff mumble. I'm really trying to find my 10 second job description, but like many of you mentioned I make a multitude of different things. @Eddie- thank you for the tagging reminder and fixing up my username. I meant to contact someone about it yesterday when I couldn't tag with the @ symbol.
