Check Skirt & Cuff

Hey! I couldn't resist buying this cute check skirt for $3 at a local op-shop I love even though it was rather big:
To downsize it I took it in on one side only keeping the side zip on the other. Because I had to take in so much 3 belt loops ended up being in strange places so I removed the two at the front and one from the back (there are now still 2 evenly spaced loops at the back).

Once I removed them I noticed only one of the fabric covered buttons was still good, the others had started to come apart.
So I sewed these three together added the button and some velcro at the ends:
And now I have a check cuff:
Loving my new skirt & cuff...and I still have a strip of fabric left so I'm thinking of using it up to make a bow for my hair =)

Cute and clever! I dig it. I might have to make a few fun cuffs too! :)
