Is it Thursday already? Well it is in the Southern Hemisphere. Where on earth do the weeks disappear? It is Erica here, on duty today.
A little white dress I've been working on this week I picked up from Salvos for $5 last year. A nice fit, but the dress had these really tight elastic sleeves. I ditched the sleeves in favour of my own DIY sleeves made with fabric from my thrifted stash. I used alternate fabric for the top and underneath of each sleeve for a different look:
This dress did not have any pockets. This is fine, but really, a Mum needs at least one pocket..to dump the car keys in whilst getting sprout in and out the car, or mobile phone whilst running around the park, that kind of thing. Inspired by clever crafter and blogger Wipster and her doily pocket that's exactly what I've included on Hem & Haw dress. A pocket made from an embroidered doily I purchased from the op shop for 70c:
New doily pocket, new sleeve restyled look..

The sleeves were cute and the pocket was a nice touch! It goes well with the cute sleeves. Well done!
you suit these lil shirt dresses :) loving the doiley pocket...there's always so many sweet doileys in 2nd hand shops for just a few cents...think i may have to snap a few up to use myself ;) thanks for the inspiration!
