Refashioning a swimsuit?
Hi I'm back from giving birth and the severe sleep deprivation from taking care of a newborn and a toddler. It's time to get some refashioning going!
I have had this teal swimsuit for a while. I love the colour and the fit when it's dry. However, when it was wet, the body drooped and it became way too long for my torso. I would dearly like to do something with it so that I can wear it.
So what do you think? Should I make it into a tankini top or should I try to somehow shorten the torso? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about doing this? Are there any websites/blog I should visit before I cut into the garment?

Beautiful swimsuit! I think a tankini top would be a great direction to take this. It's super easy to cut it off just above the leg elastic, hem the suit and the lining and off you go to the pool.
Could you simply wear it as a bodysuit as is now with jeans/skirt/shorts? Or maybe you could sew a skirt onto the bottom but the swimsuit may need some reinforcing so it doesn't stretch too much with the weight of a skirt. Or simply wear a skirt over the top too I guess!
Good luck - great swimsuit indeed!
Congrats on the baby!!
What about taking a horizontal tuck hidden by the twist of fabric? Might even be able to try it out just basted to see if it works when wet, and then if it doesn't, you could release the tuck and make the tankini top instead.
Let us know what you do!

I would try to shorten it in the body with some tucks horizontally
