. . . because you will eventually have a better idea.
I had this skirt for a long time: liked the color and flowers, didn't like the way it got tangled in my legs when I walked. While I like long straight skirts, or full maxi skirts, I think long A-line skirts can be awkward. The drapiness of fabric seemed like it would do better on a shorter skirt. So when I saw this skirt at Kohl's, I thought it would work well on mine.
I removed a 12-inch piece off the bottom, then cut that into two sections, one of which was longer than the other. I then trimmed each piece so that it was narrower on one end and gradually got wider. I finished the edges with a zig-zag stitch, gathered each piece and sewed them on at an angle.
Also, I need some help with posting pictures. I can't put the pictures where I want them in the post. They just automatically go to the top of the post, pushing everything else down, and then I can't move them. In TypePad, you could click in the body of the post and the picture would go where your cursor was, but it doesn't seem to do that in Blogger.

Good idea with the skirt. For the photo issue try dragging the photo while in 'compose' mode or go to html and either copy and paste your words or your phot. If that doesn't work try re-writing your words in the appropriate spots. Cherrie
The skirt looks great. I love the big ruffle effect. I agree that you can drag the pictures while in compose/edit post mode. I also find it easier with blogger to add my pictures in reverse order when composing a post, so I add the images first that I want to appear at the end of the post.

That looks gorgeous! I would never have realized that skirt could turn out as nice as you've made it. Well done :)
